Revised general construction planning of Sa Dec City, Dong Thap Province to 2030 and vision to 2050
Sa Đec is a provincial city in Dong Thap Province in the Mekong Delta of southern Vietnam. It is a river port and agricultural and industrial trading center. Later on, it became a Swift Boat base, as well. Before the nineteenth century, it was the capital of Dong Khau Dao, and it was known as one of the largest cities in the Mekong Delta. Today, the city has a population of approximately 152,500. Last land-use master planning has been studied in 2007, and city people committee finds some difficulties in Sa Dec city‟s development including: the service sector, the economics of the city not make many chances, needed breakthroughs; competitiveness is not high, the market is not yet stable; urban infrastructure is not uniform, been untapped water landscape values, not shown urban identity. Missing all tools and policies to manage a carefully planned, strategic urban. That is reason why Sadec launch its revised land-use master planning to 2030 and vision to 2050 to develop their motivation and enhance its attractiveness and competitiveness.
